So, I haven't been updating the blog for a while, been caught up in my own personal drama,. Here I am now though, and I'm going to get cracking with it.
This week we got a handout on reading tips to help uswith all the reading we have to do for the different assignments due. The tips provided in it are helpful for not only short essays, but for when we have to deal with extended reading, and reading lists.
I tried putting into practice what I got from the handout, and I have to say that I found some of it to be rather helpful.I have to admit that I didn't follow all of the steps for I used it to produce a short essay and we were already provided with the reading to use. I found particularly helpful the reading with a purpose bit, and having a notepad with me to extract the ideas that became the spine of my essay. Also, the skimming proccess was interesting, what I did, is that before reading in detail, I quickly went over it and underlined the titles, and headings to use as landmarks to go back to, and to mark when to pay close attention because it was getting into what I was looking for.
So, all and all, I think this had some very helpful techniques that I will put into practice from now on.
Now, the targets for this week are:
1. Finish the History essay by Friday.
2. Watch 'La lengua de las Mariposas'
3. Revise the french grammar notes for the conditional form.
4. Read up to page 53 of 'La gloire de mon pere'
5. Email the Students advise centre at the University of Manchester.

So, how did I do?
1. History Essay no.1: Done; no. 2: Not yet.
2. 'La lengua de las mariposas': Done, and I wrote the draft for Jordi.
3. Revise French Grammar: Just read them over, nothing much.
4. 'La Gloire de mon pere': Done.
5. Manchester Uni: Done.
All and all, it has been a busy week, but I have done OK.
About the reading notes. I have been mixing the techniques that we learned together with a note taking techniue that we learnt in the Communications class, and they work great together. I just need to tweak it a little to adjust it to my needs, and preferences, but I see something good in the making here.
I think this is all for today.
